Identifying your enabling conditions – What fills your gas tank of wellbeing?

Current enabling conditions

What do you enjoy doing on an ongoing basis, that nourishes you and fills your “gas tank” of wellbeing? These are often things that might get dropped when you’re especially busy, so it’s good to have a reminder. See if you can think of a mix of things that happen on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, or a few times a year. 

Write down a handful of conditions that set you up for wellbeing.

Examples:

  • Drinking enough water
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Having a well-curated auditory environment, free of distracting noise
  • Eating vegetables 
  • Taking walks
  • Lifting weights
  • Ecstatic dance
  • Coworking in a cafe
  • Swimming in the lake with friends

Desired enabling conditions

Are there any nourishing habits or practices that you’d like to be doing, but aren’t currently a part of your life? It might be because you haven’t yet tried them, or don’t know how to access them, or are waiting for some other factor to shift.

Write a few conditions that you’d like to incorporate into your life. See if you can weave any of them into your existing goals and intentions.

Examples:

  • Therapy (if on a waiting list, etc)
  • That one particular movement class (when schedule conflict is resolved)
  • Having a cat (once I’m in a space that’s a good fit)

Slack Inventory

If you didn’t get a chance to go over the Slack Inventory in the submodule on Context Orientation, this is also a good time! Take stock of the buffers and flexibility in your life, and see if there are opportunities to apply areas of abundance to ease areas of tension or scarcity.

Celebration!

How do you bring joy, recognition, honoring, and appreciation to your small daily wins & big triumphs?

Examples:

  • Sharing “wins” with friends – via chats, social media, on a call, in person
  • Treating myself, in some way
  • Making an award for myself, and putting it on the fridge!
