Welcome
Here is everything you need to get ready for the Beyond Goals workshop:
- Saturday, Jan 3rd @ 11am → 4pm
- Sunday, Jan 4th @ 11am → 4pm
- Saturday, Jan 10th @ 4pm → 9pm
- Sunday, Jan 11th @ 11am → 4pm
a. Get set up on Zoom.
Zoom is the video-conferencing software we will be using to host the event. If you haven’t already you will need to download Zoom in order to join the call.
Here’s the link to use to join, at the time of the event: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81955020984
b. Get set up on Slack.
Slack is the text-based team messaging software we will also be using. We’ll send you an invitation to join the Slack workspace for your event, and there is a quick signup process that involves an email verification. After you have signed up, click on #general on the left hand side of the page under Channels, and then follow the instructions pinned to the board in the center of the screen.
(Please note: These Slack workspaces are for each specific event. Click here for more information about the ongoing Community of Practice.)
- We will be live on both Slack and Zoom 15 minutes before the official start-time of the event, helping people get set-up and resolving any technical issues.
- At 15 minutes after the official start-time, everyone should be comfortably set up, and we will begin the video introduction to the event.
- If you arrive early and are waiting there will be recommended activities for you to start working on.
**Missing the workshop: Some people who sign up for our sessions accidentally miss the workshop. Make sure to check your time zone and set a reminder.
Here’s an example schedule, of our standard workshop flow:

-0:15 – We’ll be live on Slack and Zoom 15 minutes early, to help you get set up. Now’s a good time to write an introduction for yourself, and post it in the #introductions channel on Slack.
0:05 – Introduction to the workshop, 25 minutes
0:30 – We’ll start Pomodoro sessions, which involve a 25-minute working period followed by a 5-minute break. You’re also welcome to work and take breaks at your own pace! We’ve made the module introduction videos available online, so that you can watch them whenever is best for you.
We’ll have 8 Pomodoros with a 15 minute long break between two groups of 4, and if you’re following along with the content from start to finish, that can look like 2 Pomodoros per module. Don’t forget to reach out to coaches on your private Slack coaching channel for questions, suggestions, feedback and brainstorming help – that’s why we’re here! (See more tips and approaches here.)
4:40 – Wrap-up, with discussion of resources and next steps, 20 minutes
5:00 – End of the workshop
We also invite you to choose your own path, and use these five hours in whatever way is best! Here are some alternate workshop flows:

We look forward to seeing you there!
